How we calculate the rating

What this page weights most heavily is whether an operator's regulatory standing can actually be checked, and how clearly its terms are set out. A licence only tells a reader something once they can look it up on the relevant public register and see what it obliges the operator to do, so we treat that verifiability as the starting point rather than an afterthought. Terms that are vague, buried, or hard to locate on an operator's own site count against the listing, because a condition a reader cannot find or understand is not one they can meaningfully agree to. Other factors, such as the range of games on offer or how withdrawals are described, still feed into the rating, but they sit behind those two concerns: can a claim be checked, and can a term be understood. Where the answer to either is no, the rating reflects that gap rather than glossing over it.
